It's 60 degrees outside in Missouri currently....abnormal but not unheard of according to the history books. We have had several hard freezes already, but the last few days have been beautiful.
As we are preparing to head north to visit my Mom and family for Thanksgiving, we see the weather forecast is not nearly so appealing. In fact, there are several NEGATIVE numbers there. Yikes! We've gone soft.
Feeling the love of family as we play, eat, run (Warner Wobble here we come!), eat, chat, eat will warm our hearts through and through. What could be better?
Well, okay, all of that at 60 degrees, but it is what it is!
Have a safe, warm Thanksgiving everyone! Grateful for your love and friendship over the years.

Screamin' Eagle
His project was planting over 700 plants for a rain guard at a city park.
Six years ago we couldn't damper his enthusiasm for scouting....Some day I hope all four boys realize and appreciate the lessons learned as they walked down the path to Eagle.
I'd say "congratulations", but it wouldn't mean much, so I'll just say, "Whew!" and can confidently say Nathan agrees.

Fabulous Fourth
Madelyn's blessing is this weekend, so we're headin' out and will celebrate the 4th of July with all our children:-)
I saw this cute onsie at a baby shower recently and figured "I can make that!", so here's my version....4th of July style...

And the front:
A girl can't have enough changes of clothes--Here's another version, just in case she needs to change outfits:

Now if those 1100 miles will just fly by tomorrow.....Happy 4th everyone!
PS Wish we could be in two places at once. We'll be thinking of Joanna and Ben!

A Miracle Named Madelyn
Meet Madelyn Lucy Hendrickson, minutes old. She is beautiful! Every proud grandparent says that:-) Now I understand! What a miracle life is and how grateful we are for all the blessings the Lord sends our way. It's very humbling. With the trials and challenges that is called l-i-f-e, birth is a moment that causes us to pause, catch our breath, and contemplate the REAL purpose of life.
Just call me "Nanna!"

Hey! It's Good to Be Back Home Again
Last weekend Todd and I drove up to Minneapolis for a nephew's wedding in the St. Paul Temple. Great to be in the "north" again and with family....can it get any better than that?
And we just returned today from a quick trip "home" to Fargo/Casselton for multiple reasons, depending on who you ask!
#1 reason: Garrett and Saryn's open house in Fargo
It gave Garrett an opportunity to show off his bride to his ND friends and ward family. Very graciously our good friends, the Kings, hosted the event, which we truly appreciate:-) It was soooo fun to see so many of our Casselton and Fargo friends. What did we do to deserve such good friends? Many friends and neighbors from Casselton as well as our ward family dropped by. Oh, what wonderful memories!
Tragically, we had such a good time that not ONE picture was taken by a Hendrickson. Bummer.
#2 reason: Marathons:-)
Yes, six Hendricksons ran the Fargo 1/2 Marathon (so far the BEST organized marathon we have EVER participated it...Go Fargo!) as an entire family....well, Julie, who is 9.1 months pregnant, was excused:-) We missed her and Brandon. Next year, right guys?!
But it was Saryn's first 1/2 and she rocked!
Here's a few pics with a disclaimer: It was raining for 1/2 the race and hence we all look like drowned cats. It added about 15 pounds to each of us (great excuse, huh!).
The prep:

The "hype-yourself-up dance" by Todd and Matt (to be posted on YouTube soon):

The "BEFORE" pic:
No during pictures, thank goodness, but here's a few "after" pictures:

We look lovely, I know.
#3 Reason: Casselton High School graduation open houses:
Another opportunity to roam the streets of that fine community, Casselton, and get re-acquainted with neighbor, after neighbor, after neighbor. We wrapped up the evening with the Christiansons, need I say more?

Final Fourth
The fourth Eagle Project by the fourth Hendrickson son has now been completed! Shout for joy!
It was quite the undertaking. Over 700 plants for the city of Lee's Summit---
Due to the sudden announcement of the ground breaking for the KC temple on the same morning, we were very concerned about losing a lot of volunteers. The city of LS let us move the time up by 1 hour, which made all the difference. We had over 40 people there and feel very blessed by the support. Such great friends.
Job well done, Nathan.
