First we Work, and then we Play

My kids are tired of hearing "first we work and then we play" but that's how it goes in our house.

The Work: Last week was spring break...and the weather cooperated pretty well. Our family project for the break was to remove sod for a garden. And by Saturday it was finished, sod hauled away and now it awaits planting. Yea! Although people tell me raspberries won't grow down here and that makes me a little mad and disappointed!

The Play:


Matt and Todd went to the first two Rounds of the NCAA games at the Sprint Center, Matt's senior gift.


They watched 6-8 games, 2nd row (not because we bought great seats, but because those people never showed up and Matt and Todd took them over). Heaven for those Hendricksons.


Grandpa and I joined them at Jack Stack's in between games for dinner. Ymmm....

In case you're wondering where Nathan was in all of this, after several days of work, his play was camping with friends...ATVs, motorcycles, no shower--his idea of heaven.
